Hawthorn Dining Room & Bar is located in the Palliser Hotel in downtown Calgary, Alberta. A new era of dining at the Palliser, Hawthorn Dining Room & Bar re-defines the Calgary culinary experience with sociables and family-style dining from Alberta’s most trusted producers, farmers and suppliers. The challenge was to create a new identity for the restaurant that honoured the history of the iconic hotel and it’s previous dining rooms while looking to update it alonside the new interior. We drew inspiration from old stories and photography with the Hawthorn name and emblem being taken from an old guilded crest uncovered during the renovation.
